Interpreting Referral Agencies

Language Service Providers maintain active contracts with qualified interpreters. They will do the leg work of contacting multiple practitioners to find someone who is available for your event, but there would be an additional charge for their overhead. The following agencies provide access services in Oklahoma.


Sign Language Resource Services, Inc.
SLRS, based in the OKC metro, "specializes in American Sign Language interpreting services. Any event, any where in Oklahoma: On-site or Video Remote Interpreting."

Sorenson Interpreting
Sorenson is a nationwide company with offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa which specializes "in facilitating on-site, in-person communication between Deaf and hearing people."

based in Tulsa, OK

Alternatively you may directly contact and hire an interpreter as an independent contractor.

Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
OKRID is an affiliate chapter of RID which administers national interpreter certifications and maintains a searchable list of nationally credentialed interpreters.

DRS Interpreter Registry
The Interpreter Certification and Resource Center with the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services administers the Quality Assurance Screening Test for Oklahoma interpreters.

Educational Interpreter Registry
The Oklahoma State Department of Education maintains a registry of interpreters qualified to work in the public schools of the state of Oklahoma. These interpreters may not be qualified as generalists to work in non-educational settings!

Oklahoma Supreme Court Registry of Sign Language Interpreters
The Administrative Office of the Courts administers the Certified Court Interpreters Program for interpreters working in the district courts of the state of Oklahoma, as required by Oklahoma Law and Administrative Code.
